September 25th Birthday Horoscope

Here is my birthday horoscope:

Your personal ruling planets are Venus and Neptune.

Neptune opens your eyes to sights that people don't see, your ears to sounds that others can't hear. You are born with celestial connections, psychic vibrations and a remarkable "sense" of knowing. Yours is truly a spiritual and new age energy.

You are forever looking out for the needs or welfare of others, even when you should really be sorting out some of the stuff in your own life. Don't go to extremes and ignore the work that has to be done on your own inner level, as the deeper side of Neptune can confuse and deceive you just as easily. Issues of trust in relationships need to be addressed and stem from daily family conflicts.

Your lucky colours are the darker green shades.

Your lucky gems are turquoise, cats eye chrysoberyl, tigers eye.

Your lucky days of the week are Mondays and Thursdays.

Your lucky numbers and years of important change are 7 , 16, 25, 34, 43, 52, 61, 70, 79.

Other folks born today:
Christopher Reeve - long ago, I worked as an intern at Lifetime Television in LA. Christopher Reeve did a crappy made-for-tv movie with us and so I got to see him at the screening. It was cool. I think he had his accident soon after.

Barbara Walters - turns 77 this year. Now I don't feel so old.

Mark Hamill - hell, yeah! Luke Skywalker!

Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones - yes, they share a birthday and they are 25 years apart in age. The first time Michael saw Catherine he said he became like a heat-seeking missile for her. Ew.

Will Smith - west philadelphia born and raised! I was born in Philadelphia, too.

Marion Zimmer Bradley - Sci-fi/fantasy author - and she's a girl!

Don Adams - played Maxwell Smart in Get Smart! so cool. I talk into my shoe sometimes, but I don't have a shoe phone, I just drink too much sometimes.

William Faulkner - a Nobel Prize winning American author

Shel Silverstein - Where the Sidewalk Ends and The Giving Tree are old favorites of mine.

Sarah Bernhardt - not Sandra, Sarah

Heather Locklear - turns 47 today

Cheryl Tiegs - turns 61 (!) today - is that possible?? geez.

Bridgette Wilson - Ginger from Saved by the Bell. Also played Francine in The Wedding Singer which was just on last night. And was in Shopgirl.

Scottie Pippen - Basketball, y'all.

Happy Birthday to my fellow librans. Remember, we all share the same birthday horoscope above so Barbara Walters should remember to work on trust in relationships, just as Scottie Pippen needs to sort out some stuff in his own life, not just the welfare of those around him. Mark Hamill's lucky days are Mondays and Thursdays and Will Smith will be lucky in dark green. Me too!

Look what I found when I came downstairs this morning!

I'm home....or am I?

Seattle pulled out all the stops for me on this visit. The birds were singing, the sun was shining (!) and skies were blue. I managed to see many of my friends and it really felt like there's a lot of love there. Not that I doubted, but I do really treasure all those connections. I did it all while I was there: coffee, lunches, drinks, walks, shopping, bus rides, bachelorette party, pho, coffee again, Naomi's wedding, photography, and even a bit of public speaking, and for the first time, the Puyallup Fair! The only thing that fell through was my scheduled tattoo session at Lucky Devil.

I was asked to do a reading for Naomi and Aham at their wedding. With the help of my literate cousin, Miranda, I managed to find a beautiful poem by Pablo Neruda. I forget the title, I know, I suck. But first I read a quote from Dances With Wolves and got a big laugh. The quote is actually quite lovely and suitable:

They are people so eager to laugh, so devoted to family, so dedicated to each other. The only word that comes to mind is harmony.

I finished with "Remember the words that Ron Burgundy said to Victoria Corningstone: I freakin' love you, and from her to him: I freakin love you, too!"

I like to think that I contributed to the overall good times that were had that night.

It was strange to be "home" for a week. It feels so familiar and yet so far away. I was again reminded that people there live in nice houses with yards and flowers around them. It doesn't smell like urine and garbage all summer. There are tons of cute boys and girls running around and people look generally healthy and vital. I miss it. My heart skips a beat when I think of finding a cute apartment and setting up my own little home. But realistically it's a long way away...

a smart blonde joke

My aunt sent this to me:

A blonde walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the loan officer. She says she's going to Europe on business for two weeks and needs to borrow $5,000. The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan, so the blonde hands over the keys to a new Mercedes Benz SL 500.
The car is parked on the street in front of the bank.
She has the title, and everything checks out. The bank agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank's president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the blonde for using a $110,000 Benz as collateral against a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then proceeds to drive the Benz into the bank's underground garage and parks it there. Two weeks later, the blonde returns. She repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41. The loan officer says, 'Miss, we are very happy to have had your business and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multi-millionaire.'
'What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?'

The blonde replies, 'Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return?'
Finally...... a smart blonde joke.

Awwww.....
